Beer
So I’ve started homebrewing and the bug has bit me hard. After dropping about $300 so far in equipment and ingredients, spending at least 100 hours reading about brewing or actually doing it, and generally being obsessed with beer and the things that go into making it, my first batch is ready to drink. The whole process took about a month, from brewday to having a frosty and frothy glass of suds in my hand which involved 2 weeks of fermentation, and two more weeks in the bottles for carbonation. The results are well worth it, I have around five gallons of pretty good beer, a boatload of knowledge that I didn’t before, and 10 more gallons of potential drinks in fermentation right now. This is definitely going to consume quite a bit of my free time.
Stats:
- Style: Red Steam
- ABV: 4.6%
- Flavor: A semi-dark, medium bodied, amber style ale with low hop aroma
